North West team made the province proud at the 2025 National Schools Sport

The North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation (ACSR) in partnership with the North West Department of Education participated in the 2025 National School Sport Championship (NSSC)  winter games - which took place from July 11-15 at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The NSSC included both mainstream and Learners Special Educational Needs (LSEN) participants.
About 136 learners selected to represent the province across ages and gender battled for various championship honours in several sporting codes.

That among others included Football U/15 boys and girls, Rugby U/15 boys and girls, Deaf Netball girls U/16, Mildly Intellectually Disabled (MID) netball girls U/19 and Severely Intellectually Disabled (SID) Netball girls U/19.

Spearheaded by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) and Department of Basic Education (DBE), the NSSC remains the premier bedrock platform for sport development.

These championships are a culmination of the schools league programme where schools compete at an in-school, inter-school, local, district, provincial and ultimately at national level.
The North West Province, like all other Provinces, sent their best soldiers to the frontline - to collect medals and fly the Province’s flag high.
