The District said, the programme they led was successful despite slight challenges
The Maquassi Hills Municipality Mayor, Mzwandile Feliti and District Executive Mayor, Nikiwe Num were not present due to their ANC-binding duties
The government's Thuntsa Lerole programme was held at Kgakala township recently despite the programme front-troopers were not available, various government departments, under the auspices of inter-governmental relations (IGR) flocked to the local stadium to render services to the local residents
The Maquassi Hills Local Municipality Mayor, Mzwandile Feliti and the Executive Mayor of the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, Nikiwe Num, had to attend to the party's (ANC) immediate call of duty, leaving the District Municipality's Member of the Mayoral Committe for Technical Infrastructure and Planning, who also doubled as the District Municipality Acting Mayor, Zanele Mphafudi to handle the day's affairs
Government departments like Home Affairs, Health, Social Development, Correctional Services, Sports, Arts and Recreation, Agriculture and Maquassi Hills Local Municipality Libraries came to deliver first hand services to the Kgakala community
Residents were allowed to pose questions much to the immediate response from all the participating departments.
Some questions were noted for later response. This is not the first time the programme reached areas of Maquassi Hills. The programme aims to impact communities with services they find difficult to receive
