The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the North West commends members involved in an intelligence-driven operation conducted in the Vorstershoop policing area, which resulted in the arrest of 23 suspected undocumented foreign nationals. The operation also led to a farm owner being issued with an admission of guilt fine for allegedly employing undocumented foreign nationals. During the operation police intercepted a white Isuzu truck and a white Toyota Land Cruiser single cab on the R379 gravel road. Several occupants fled into nearby farms, while the driver and the farmer, were stopped. It is alleged that the farmer stated that the employees are legally in South Africa for study purposes. Police requested the farmer to contact the individuals, who returned voluntarily for verification.
