The community-based movement in Leeudoringstad, Batho Pele has signed a petition with the Kgakala residents in Leeudoringstad over illegal dumping and a continuously spilling sewege in the area
The movement said, they are investing in having the dumping site located at the entrance of their township removed. The movement also pointed out that, the illegal dumping is creating unhealthy living conditions for the residents

According to Rexo Samuel, there is a person who is promising desperate job seekers in Maquassi Hills an employment at Fedelity Security Services with a fee of R1 000

• Boskuil, Reabona and Hoërksool Wolmaransstad obtained 100% in 2025 Matric exams
One of the least recognised schools in Maquassi Hills, the Boskuil Combined is amongst schools that have achieved a remarkable 100% in the 2025 matric results
The other schools that achieved 100% in their matric exams are Reabona Secondary School and Hoërskool Wolmaransstad
The following schools have obtained less than 90% in their matric exams: the Leeudoringstad-based schools, the North West Secondary School for the Deaf has obtained 38% with 3 passed and 5 failed, Tiragalo Secondary has seen 61% of matric passes, 62 candidates failed and 98 passed
• Maquassi Hills RDP recipients still waiting for completion of their houses
Maquassi Hills RDP recipients are eagerly waiting to have their houses built. Many of stand recipients have left them unattended resulting in a continuous vadalism of incomplete RDP houses in the Ext 17 & 18
These RDP houses remain incomplete despite the South South African Human Rights Commission's report being concluded in 2024
The commission embarked on an investigative inquiry to find out what transpired into RDP houses that are not completed after funds to build residents their houses was secured

The Maquassi Hills Municipality has reported a positive response of the Ext 10 title deeds collection in Tswelelang
The municipality called on the residents to collect their title deeds last week at their offices, the office for the PRO said, residents came in numbers to collect their household documents
