Wolmaransstad - Maquassi Hills Local Municipality is warning the communities against the continued vandalism of crucial infrastructure. The municipality said, it is concerned of water connections that are being destroyed as the acts restrict communities from accessing well-deserved water services
The municipality also highlighted that various Wards have been impacted, urging the community to be cautious with the ongoing vandalism of the infrastructure. The municipality says, those involved must be held liable for such acts
"Maquassi Hills Local Municipality has noted with utmost and deepened concern on the continued vandalism of infrastructure, especially the water connections. Syndicates against service delivery are running randomly amok to ensure that residents are deprived of their essentially-deserved services.
The municipality has identified Ward 01 and 10 as mostly hard hit and as such, would like to urge community members to be vigilant and make sure that perpetrators of these acts are brought to book" - Maquassi Hills Municipality
The municipality has also urged residents to report and identify those responsible for vandalizing the water connections, saying, it's everyone's responsibility to protect the infrastructure
"As a municipality, we urge our people to report and identify people who are engaging in these acts.
Needless to mention, it is everyone's role to ensure that we protect our infrastructure. Blow the whistle and protect our infrastructure against vandalizers" - Maquassi Hills Municipality
