New NW Education MEC Mohono demands accountability and urgent action from senior management

North West Education MEC Dr Sebonta Francinah Desbo Mohono has called on the department’s senior management to strengthen accountability, integrity, teamwork and service delivery to improve education outcomes across the province.

Speaking during her inaugural engagement with senior management in Mahikeng, Mohono said officials must work collectively and respond urgently to challenges affecting learners and schools.

Mohono highlighted infrastructure backlogs, calling for greater decentralisation of responsibilities to districts to speed up project implementation and monitoring.

The MEC also emphasised the need to embrace technology, strengthen collaboration on scholar transport, and promote food security and learner wellbeing.

Mohono urged senior officials to work with urgency and purpose, stressing that there is no room for complacency in delivering quality education to the people of North West.
