Wolmaransstad - Some Maquassi Hills municipal employees have not been paid their monthly salaries, payments include those working the government employment such as EPWP and CWP
It is reported that the municipal employees have been waiting and questioning the delay of payments
At this stage, it has been said that, the delay in payments it is as the result of the current financial challenges the municipality is facing
The municipality has been battling financial crisis for several years due to reports of financial misconduct by officials within the municipality
This has led to the provincial treasury to intervene into the municipality's accounts to oversee financial records on how finances were allocated
The treasury came across discrepancies placing the municipality under intervention programme
It's not clear when will the employees receive they monthly salaries
