Netball continues to be alive in Maquassi Hills



Wolmaransstad - Coach Lerato Johanna Aau saif, netball is alive & kicking in Maquassi Hills. Aau was speaking after being appreciated for her dedicated time to the sport. Aau, has recruited players within her area to join her club to showcase their skills 

The Dr Kenneth Kaunda Netball has dedicated it's time to appreciate coach Lerato Johanna Aau for working tirelessly to develop the sport in a Tswelelang community



Aau has developed the love for this sport and she has dedicated herself into roping in a team of young girls who are devoted into being the best local players

Coach Aau's team has partnered with other various sport teams & has participated in friendly matches, leagues & tournaments in and around Maquassi Hills 



The team now varies from secondary school  to primary school girls

Team players have also attached themselves and thanked the coach for her absolute efforts to make the girls win each and every match they play, however, the team had experienced various challenges which saw them strive for success of it

Coach Aau said, they need support from Department of Sports in North West to groom the girls with skills to play the sport, however, the department within the province responded to her call for support to assist in nurturing the netball environment within the Maquassi Hills sub-region



The team recently participated in the inter-departmental league that took place. Aaualso said, in a call, she wrote to various departments to request for support in grooming young minds to love the sport and represent the team across tournaments & leagues

"As a chair person of netball this side I wrote to all departments ,,the reason being we are in need of their support to groom the development from grassroots  to the highest level" - Coach Lerato Johanna Aau



Aau said, she also wrote to other stakeholders to request financial assistance for her team. MIDAS allocated a financial assistance for the growing local team. The funds will be allocated annually to assist the team in its lifespan. The Coach also saw it fit to rop in primary school girls who are interested in the sport

"I also wrote to the other steak holders for funding, whereby MIDAS already gave me some funds and it's an ongoing funding for each and every year ,then we decided to go to the primaries for vulnerable children" - Coach Aau

Aau uses her dynamic range of skills to nurture young players to be the best in region and win the matches, even though, the team had also made some losses to some of their matches



Coach Aau has been thanked & praised as a brand ambassador for the netball sport

Aau said, her team in the Maquassi Hills Sub-region is well & alive
