• A police officer accused of murdering his girlfriend remains behind bars following his first court appearance. Sergeant Leepile Mtimkulu aged 46, stationed at the Wolmaransstad Police Station, appeared before court, facing a charge of murder

• The R502 route has been re-opened after truck accident near  Leeudoringstad. An accident  involving a hazardous goods truck closed the R502 road between Leeudoringstad and Makwassie late in March
