North West MEC for Finance, Kenetswe Mosenogi, has been appointed as Acting Premier of the province following Premier Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi’s decision to take a leave of absence.
According to the Office of the Premier, Mosenogi assumed the responsibilities on Saturday, 24 May, and will serve in the role until Sunday, 08 June 2025.
During this period, she is expected to oversee the functions of the provincial government and ensure continuity in leadership.
The appointment was officially announced on Friday. No reasons were given for Premier Mokgosi’s temporary leave.
