Leeudoringstad, Kgakala - Some of the residents of Kgakala are calling for more senior public schools to be built in the area
Residents said, the Department of Education failed them
Tiragalo Secondary is the current public school which serves the entire neighborhood of Kgakala, however, some of learners within the area, have decided to be enrolled in nearby schools in Rulaganyang and Tswelang respectively, each and every academic year due to overcrowding and lack of spaces at Tiragalo
"We need more than 2 secondary schools in Leeudoringstad. I see no reason why MHESS was built at Wolmaransstad whereas we have one secondary school which caters for three primary schools in this area at this point"
Residents said, the municipality and the Department of Education in North West failed the citizens of Leeudoringstad
In 2023, The Public Works and Infrastructure Department that was led by Deputy Minister, Bernice Swarts promised to skatch down designs for a new senior public school to eliminate overcrowding at Tiragalo Secondary School, however, that plan is still in the pipelines
Residents blamed the Department of Education in the province for allowing more public senior schools to be built in Tswelelang while Kgakala has only one senior school which is subjected to a high number learner-enrollment due to overcrowding
