The delegation visited Lonely Park Clinic, before having bilaterals, centered on budget cut disruptions, following the Executive Order signed by US President Donald Trump Jnr in January this year.

The order freeze financial aid and withdraw over 600 personnel that came as technical support.
The meeting also discussed adjustments, and better planning around the delivery of high-care healthcare services amid this abrupt cuts.
Currently, the North West Department of Health has to reprioritise and reallocate funds to fill gaps in the health programmes following withdrawal of the financial and technical support.
It is estimated that additional funds amounting to R 201 514 336.40 that includes R108 598 336, 40 for Human Resource shortfall and R2 916 000 for material resources to sustain services.
Universal access to high-quality comprehensive health care is a key determinant in providing every citizen in the North West Province with the maximum opportunity to live a productive and long life.
Similar trends have been noted in the four districts of North West Province. The number of people living with HIV has shown a steady increase with 549 559 reported in 2023.
The team agreed to have constant meeting to enhance support that is mutually beneficial.
