The City of Matlosana, law enforcement team and Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Health Services conducted law enforcement operation in Jouberton. The operation is part of the municipality's ongoing campaign to enforce municipal by-laws, protect public health and improve community safety.
The operation resulted in the arrest of five undocumented foreign nationals by South African Police Services. During inspections, four shops were temporarily closed after officials discovered illegal electricity connections and serious health and environmental health violations that posed a risk to consumers and surrounding communities.
Officials also confiscated various food items found to be unfit for human consumption and disposed of them in accordance with the relevant health regulations
The City of Matlosana remains committed to ensuring that businesses operate within the law and meet the required health, safety and municipal compliance standards. Similar operations will continue throughout the the KOSH area to protect residents, promote fair trading practices and uphold the rule of law.
The municipality calls on all business owners to comply with municipal by-laws and all applicable legislation to avoid enforcement action.
