North West Government led Phase 6 of Thuntsha Lerole in Maquassi Hills



Led by the Premier of the North West Province, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi together with Members of the Executive Council, Executive Mayors and Heads of the Department, the programmes made several intervention on the municipality that has huge service delivery challenges


Among activities that took place included the handing over of three RDP Houses in Lebeleng, Extension 6, pothole patching on George Street, laying of paving bricks in Kgakala Location and the oversight visit at the steel water reservoir

There was also monitoring of the grade 12 winter camp for three schools held at the North West Schools of the deaf. Planting of seedlings for establishment of vegetable garde at the Leeudoringstad, issuing of three Wheelchairs and two walking aids to patients



 
At Leeudoringstad, government also rolled out the Matlakala Ke Zaka Campaign, an initiative that promotes responsible waste management, recycling, and the economic value of waste. The campaign encouraged communities to collect, separate, and sell recyclable materials, transforming waste into economic opportunities while contributing to cleaner and healthier neighbourhoods

ANC NEC member led door-to-door campaign in Maquassi Hills ahead of Local Government Elections in November

ANC NEC member and National Organiser Mduduzi Manana led a door-to-door program at ward 5 in  Tswelelang Manana engaged with residents and encouraged them to register and update their voter details   The ANC continues to mobilise communities to participate in the upcoming 2026 Local Government Elections, however, it has lost some wards in Maquassi Hills sub-region due to by-elections. Maquassi Hills among municipalities that had Equitable Share withheld once again

Maquassi Hills Council met with SCOPA committee again to account
