ANC NEC member led door-to-door campaign in Maquassi Hills ahead of Local Government Elections in November
ANC NEC member and National Organiser Mduduzi Manana led a door-to-door program at ward 5 in Tswelelang
Manana engaged with residents and encouraged them to register and update their voter details
The ANC continues to mobilise communities to participate in the upcoming 2026 Local Government Elections, however, it has lost some wards in Maquassi Hills sub-region due to by-elections. The party lost wards to their biggest oppositions, the Democratic Alliance and the Economic Freedom Fighters
The party lost ward 5 to the DA and ward 3 to the EFF in by-elections that were held in Tswelelang in 2023/24. As the party is preparing for the 2026 Local Government Elections, Maquassi Hills wards will be hotly contested by three rival opposition parties which are the ANC, the DA and the EFF
The ANC also lost electoral support in the sub-region due to it's failures to provide residents with proper services, party in-fights, issues with maladministration and financial mismanagement involving the municipality led by same party. As the 2026 Local Government Elections are nearing, Maquassi Hills residents will be the deciders of ANC's fate in local governance
