Wolmaransstad - Maquassi Hills municipal employees who have not been paid their monthly salaries, have now received their payments
These employees included those working the government employment such as EPWP and CWP
It was reported that the municipal employees had been waiting and questioning the delay of payments
It was also said that, the delay in payments waqs as the result of the current financial challenges the municipality is facing
The municipality has been battling financial crisis for several years due to reports of financial misconduct by officials within the municipality
This has led to the provincial treasury to intervene into the municipality's accounts to oversee financial records on how finances were allocated
The treasury came across discrepancies placing the municipality under intervention programme
