Paving operations in full swing in Tswelelang after rain

Tswelelang - Pave laying operations are now in full swing after been halted in the Ext 5, Tswelelang due to persistent rainfall

The contractor (Khoisan Roads CC) appointed to construct a pavement for a portion of the area had halted operations as weather conditions continued to disrupt daily construction work

The construction has just entered a pavement laying phase in early this year. The construction began last year in 2024

The project has seen some delays due to underlying issues that included the hiring  confusion of pave layers last year, however the misunderstanding was cleared

The project has seen a halt of operation for multiple times as rainfall persists. Some residents within the Ext 5 area are questioning why not lay a pavement for the entire area as  current persistent rain makes it hard for them to walk easily due to muddy surface

According to a report, it was explained that not all portions of the area will be paved as that rules according to phases and a 5-year-planned budget, however  that has left residents desiring to have a pavement layed through the area to prepare for rainy seasons
