Woman sentenced to life for murder of elderly victim


The Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng welcomes the successful conviction and sentencing of Bridgette Goitsemodimo Bojosi (31)  for the brutal murder of Anna Kedibone Mokowe (65)who resided at 
 Mokgalwaneng, Disake.

The convict was sentenced by the Mogwase Regional Court on Monday, 24 February 2025, following the murder committed on Friday evening, 24 March 2023.

 The court heard that the victim's burnt body was found at a rubbish dump in the backyard covered with a carpet.She had a stab wound to her neck.

Following an intensive investigation, police arrested Bojosi on  Saturday 25 March 2023, and charged her with murder and defeating the administration of justice.

Subsequent to several court appearances, the accused was sentenced as follows: 

• Count 1 – Murder: Life imprisonment
• Count 2 – Defeating the administration of justice: Five years’ imprisonment (to run concurrently with the life sentence)

Furthermore, the accused has been declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner commends the investigating officers,  prosecution and other role players for their dedication that culminated in securing the conviction, which he said  reaffirms our commitment to ascertain that those who commit violent crimes will face the full might of the law.
