Leeudoringstad - Maquassi Hills Local Municipality says they have conducted usual routine inspection of a new pipeline after discovering issues with air valve leakage in Leeudoringstad
The municipality said, the leakage resulted in pumps being offline to prevent further damage
"Our maintenance team conducted a routine inspection of the new pipeline in Leeudoringstad and identified a critical issue with the air valve leakage at the pumps. The leakage has resulted in the pumps being taken offline to prevent further damage and ensure safe operations"
The municipality also said, their technical support team has been working to repair the valve
"Our technical team is currently working to repair the air valve and restore normal operations as soon as possible".
Residents of Maquassi Hills have been battling with current water challenges for days without adequate water supply
The supply had been disrupted due to current issues the municipality has outlined
An apology was also requested by the municipality for any inconvenience caused by these disruptions
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve the issue"
The office of the MMC from the municipality said, the rehabilitation of their operations and infrastructure is their main priority
"The safety of our operations and the reliability of our infrastructure are our top priorities, and we are committed to ensuring that our systems are functioning properly to meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders"
The office of the MMC also highlighted that this is a temporary disruption in the supply of water
"We regret to inform you that there will be a temporary interruption of water supply in our area due to a major leakage in our water distribution system between the traffic office and correctional facility"
Residents have also been urged to take precautions to conserve water
"During this time, we kindly request that you take the necessary precautions to conserve water and minimize disruption to your daily activities"
