Matlosana held Entrepreneural Flea Market Day in Tower Mall

On 28 March 2025, The City of Matlosana has once again demonstrated its commitment to local economic development by hosting a vibrant flea market aimed at supporting small businesses and informal traders on Friday, 28 March 2025.

The event, organized by the Local Economic Development (LED) Directorate, brought together a diverse range of entrepreneurs, crafters, and food vendors from across the municipality.

Held at Tower Mall in Jouberton, the flea market provided a platform for emerging businesses to showcase and sell their products to the community.

From handmade crafts and fashion accessories to traditional food and household goods, the market buzzed with activity and offered residents a unique shopping experience.

The initiative is part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to empower local entrepreneurs by creating exposure, fostering networking opportunities, and stimulating grassroots economic activity.

MMC for Local Economic Development, Cllr Wesley Kgang, emphasized the importance of such platforms in promoting entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment.

“We are committed to building a supportive environment for small businesses to thrive. Through these markets, we give our people the opportunity to trade legally, grow their businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the local economy,” said Cllr Kgang.

The flea market forms part of a broader LED strategy that includes business skills workshops, tuck shop registration drives, and partnerships with development agencies.

The event spans two (2) days. Be sure to visit the flea market and support our local SMMEs!
