Maquassi Hills schools are among those that embarked on Autumn Camps


Boskuil - Maquassi Hills are among schools that went to the Autumn Schools Camps. The autumn camps have been organised by the Department of Education in North West. These camps are aimed at improving matric performence  


Maquassi Hills schools that attended the Autumn Schools Camps include Boskuil Combined, Leruntse-Lesedi, Reabona Sec, Atlarelang Combined and others 


The camps, which commenced on Friday, 28 March 2025, targets underperforming and vulnerable schools with pass rates around 70%, and those with progressed learners


To ensure learners' participation, parents sign commitment letters, while Grade 12 learners also sign their own commitment letters, pledging not to engage in any illegal activities during the camps.


According to the MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi, these camps form part of the First Push Campaign. 

"As the North West province, we have started with the journey of supporting our learners right at the beginning of the year. These camps are part of the First Push Campaign


"These camps are going to deal in detail with the work done on the first quarter. Teachers are going to conduct revision of different topics and to assist learners with problematic topics. When they go back to their schools, they will be understanding the work done in the first quarter of the year", said MEC Motsumi


The autumn camps are expected to conclude on Friday, 04 April 2025
