Kasi Football Flavour comes back again to entertain fans



Tswelelang - Kasi Football Flavour is making another come back for its annual tournament of 16 local and regional teams this year

The flavourful and success yet tournament, is making a landfall in Tswelelang where football teams will battling it out in the fields to make it to the top 2 for the final round to win the Kasi Football Flavour cup



The famous tournament will feature Tsa Kasi, Dynamos, Wollies Academy, Flamingo FCs among others

The tournament will be hosted on the 14th till the 16th June 2025

In 2023, The much attended Youth Month soccer tournament has yielded results for teams that became part of it

With 16 teams on the tournament, only one became victorious at the finals and walked away with R25 000, that was Bafana Bafana FC with the second place walking away with R10 000, that was Nachongo FC. The tournament was attended by more than 200 fans

Bafana Bafana played against Nachongo in the finals and won the tournament

The tournament was held to commemorate the Youth Day at the Old Kasi Sports Field in Tswelelang


Kasi Football Flavour's organisers said, with the tournament, they wanted to bring difference and change in Maquassi Hills and Dr Kenneth Kaunda District

"We decided that we want to bring such a magnitude of a tournament in Maquassi Hills. We decided to commemorate 16 June with 16 teams, that was the bigger idea of the 16 June tournament" - Kagiso Soka, Tournament Organising Team Member

The 3-day Youth Day Soccer Tournament welcomed other teams in Dr Kenneth Kaunda Region

A large number of fans warmed the hearts of the tournament organisers



"We're so happy about the success of the tournament and the support of the community. We are very excited with the turnout of people who came to watch the soccer tournament from the 1st day, 16 June 2023, until it's last day" - Papi Moselane, Tournament Organising Team Member

Kasi Football Flavour's part of Tournament Organising Team, Paul Kadi said, they heard a positive response from fans who have requested for another round of the tournament. Kadi said, they plan on making it an annual thing

"We had 16 teams that played in the tournament. The response I heard from approximately 500 fans is that they want this thing to be an annual thing. We would like to host something like this again next year" - Kadi

Local small businesses benefited from the tournament, which also warmed the hearts of the tournament organisers


"We created business opportunities with this tournament in Maquassi Hills. Multitudes came to buy in those businesses which is something that's much better for local economy" - Kadi

A red carpet was laid out for the tournament winners with more fans celebrating with the team. The tournament left a much needed change in the soccer space
