Resilience on the field, Sibanye Rugby play tough on their matches

Sibanye-Stillwater SAPGM Rugby Club’s first team faced a challenging match against Welkom Rugby Club, ultimately losing the game. But beyond the scoreboard, the team endured an emotionally heavy week. “It was a tough week; two of our players lost their parents,” shared head coach Joel Scherman. “Our deepest condolences to them and their families.”

The team was also impacted by multiple injuries, weddings, and work commitments, which led to nine last-minute changes in the line-up. Despite the setback, the squad remains determined and focused on their next challenge. Sibanye-Stillwater will take to their home ground in Rustenburg, facing off against Matlosana Rugby Club from Klerksdorp. Both their first and second teams will be in action.
