Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Celebrated the last round of National Teaching Awards for the Districts in the North West Province.
The successful celebration was hosted at Protea Hotel in Klerksdorp on the 07th of August 2025.
The Acting District Director Ms NM Seokolo welcomed all the celebrants to the auspicious occasion and informed them that they are all winners and the District is extremely proud of them.
She mentioned that the NTA is one of the biggest event in the District, hence it was honoured by the attendance of Ms Pamela Rasetshwane (Chief Director), Directors from Corporate Ms Masego Senna & Mr Bruno Thejane, Circuit Managers and Officials from both Corporate and District.
She confirmed that the District will now join other Districts in preparation for the Provincial NTA that will be held on the 28th of August 2025 in Mahikeng - Ngaka Modiri Molema Local Municipality.
The 2025 NTA Awards are celebrated under the Theme: "Empowering Educators, Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability".
Mr Motsumi TP explained during his purpose of the day speech that the celebration marks a significant milestone for the District to recognise excellent performance of individual educators who are dedicated and inspired by the Teaching Profession.
It is also aimed at honouring teacher's contributions in shaping the young minds and growing future generation for the country, as well as motivating those who want to participate in the NTA.
Furthermore, he said that the District was also gearing up to promote quality Education as it was witnessed during the time of interviews and encouraged teachers to raise the bar in the 2025 NTA.
Mr Mthimkhulu J, a keynote speaker encouraged teachers to avoid excuses if they want to grow and shine He encouraged them to be Innovative and creative in the classroom as that will take them to greater heights in life. Sustainable development of programs moving from compliance to transformation.
He continued to advised them to Change the world by using global partnerships to develop themselves as best teachers in their own spaces. He pleaded with them to ensure sustainable development of programs by simply moving from compliance to transformation approach in line with 4IR.
He lastly said that Education is about lighting fire in the heart not only feeding the brain of a learner with information.
As the previous NTA National winner in the Category of Excellence in Secondary School, Mr Mthimkhulu cautioned the candidates to support each other and rise above their fears
Messages of support from Trade Unions indicated that teaching is a noble Profession that needs confidence, commitment and dedication to acquire better results. They all appreciated the good work done by teachers despite the challenges that they encounter throughout the process.
