Police rejected claims that truck drivers and motorists are attacked in Wolmaransstad


Wolmaransstad - Police in Wolmaransstad have rejected social media claims that suggested truck drivers and motorists are under attack during night-time 

The Wolmaransstad Police rejected these claims earlier in July 2025

The police say, the social media post was not issued by   or on behalf of the police and was baseless and lacks credibility 




"That post was not issued by or on behalf of the police. The social media post is baseless and is without any credible information. As such, the SAPS  would like to reassure the general public, truck operators and motorists as well as business community that posts such as this should not be taken seriously also those who maliciously disseminate or spread information that is false and is unverified" - North West Police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Manyaba

Wolmaransstad Police said, any false and unverified information will be dealt with harshly

Manyaba said, a person or people who are responsible for the false information are not aware that false information or posting has serious repercussions on stability, particularly economically not only of Wolmaransstad  but also of the country at large and the N12, which services provinces across the country 

Police in North West province have reassured residents and business community in Wolmaransstad that their premises will not be allowed to be used by thugs to cause mayhem, intimidation  or robberies 



"In this regard, we are calling upon the community  through the Community Policing Forum - CPF and Business Against Crime - BAC as well as other civil society structures in and around Wolmaransstad to work with the police to report any act of crime. It is important that strong public private partnership be established to prevent and combat crime" - North West Police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Manyaba
