Political parties have reacted with sadness to former Deputy President David Mabuza's passing, saying he was an influential figure in South African politics.
Members of Parliament (MPs) have also paid tribute to Mabuza, describing him as non-partisan and selfless.

Mabuza, who served as leader of government business during his term as deputy president, died on Thursday at the age of 64.
Political parties reacted to Mabuza’s passing, describing him as someone who played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s political landscape.
Build on South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane said while he frequently clashed with Mabuza on matters of accountability and governance, he always recognised his “political acumen and influence”.
GOOD Party leader Patricia de Lille extended her party’s condolences, saying Mabuza was an “exemplary chair” of intergovernmental forums, noting how his meetings were always “marked by punctuality and clarity of purpose”.
ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba called Mabuza a "significant figure" in South African political life.
“His contributions and influence spanned decades and will leave a lasting mark on our country’s democratic journey.”
Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Velenkosini Hlabisa said South Africa has lost a leader who was both pragmatic and driven by purpose.
