The Maquassi Hills Municipality Mayor, Mzwandile Feliti has in a statement denied claims of the newly appointed CFO and Director of Community Services
The Mayor says these claims are disputed and should be regarded as unconfirmed and finalised
"The municipality wishes to update the public, municipal employees and all stakeholders regarding the recent information circulating on social media alleging that the Council has appointed a CFO and a Director of Community Services. Please be advised that these claims are disputed and should not be regarded as confirmed or final" - Maquassi Hills Municipality Mayor, Mzwandile Feliti
The Mayor also said, the Council held two meetings which collapsed due to unfollowed proper procedure and manipulation by Council Speaker, Sarah Nkatlo. The Mayor said, the collapse of council meetings was as a result of wrong followed procedure, manipulation of the law by the Speaker, differing views from the Council, selection process and the report
Feliti said, the appointment processes regarding the mentioned positions are not within the laws and and and an internal processes have been launched
"As the Mayor of the Municipality, I would like to indicate that the appointment processes relating to the above-mentioned positions are irregular and still undergoing internal governance processes, therefore, no resolution has been formally taken by Council" - Maquassi Hills Municipality Mayor, Mzwandile Feliti
The Mayor has urged residents of Maquassi Hills to disregard any unofficial communication suggesting that senior managers have been appointed until lawful processes are finalised
