Dr KK District Municipality held Thuntsha Lerole Phase 6 in Leeudoringstad



In late May 2026, the Thuntsha Lerole Phase 6 Accelerated Service Delivery Programme was held in Leeudoringstad, to engage on service delivery matters and community development initiatives.

The first presentation under the Social Cluster programme was delivered by the District Single Whip, Jeffrey Lesie, who provided feedback on the side visits conducted during the programme.

The visits included various stakeholders such as the Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT), the Department of Social Development, and the Office of the Single Whip.




As part of the outreach initiatives, shoes were donated to learners at Bophepa Primary School, while school bags were handed over to learners at Thusang Primary School.

Lesie acknowledged that although the donations brought relief to many learners, additional vulnerable children in need were identified during the visits.

He further indicated that efforts would be explored to ensure that those who could not benefit during the current intervention are assisted in future.

The delegation also visited Boskuil Combined School, where awareness programmes on child protection were conducted to educate and empower learners and community members on issues affecting children’s safety and wellbeing.

On matters relating to food security, seeds and gardening tools were donated to five families within the community.




Beneficiaries also received training on sustainable gardening practices aimed at encouraging self sufficiency and household food production.

During the Infrastructure presentation, MMC for Infrastructure MMC Mphafudi addressed the community on previously raised service delivery grievances and provided progress feedback on interventions undertaken.

He reported that high mast lights had been installed, street lights repaired, and critical roads in Extension 6 had been cleared and rehabilitated
