COGTA took GBVF awareness campaign to Letlhakeng community

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs took its Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) awareness campaign to the Letlhakeng community in Moses Kotane Local Municipality, bringing together government departments, traditional leadership and community-based organisations to strengthen collective efforts against GBVF.

The event was held in partnership with Office of the Premier, Department of Social Development, South African Police Service (SAPS), South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, Traditional Authority and Ratanang Social Club, among others.

The programme provided community members with important information and access to services which included amongst others victim empowerment, support for older persons, social grants, justice services and GBVF prevention and response mechanisms.
