A 23-year-old gardener is in critical condition after he was shot, allegedly by either one of former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe’s sons or his friend.
A witness, who was near Mugabe’s Hyde Park home at the time of the incident, says he heard two gunshots and someone crying.
This is before neighbours and passerbys saw the 23-year-old man fleeing and falling at the nearby corner.
Police have detained Mugabe’s son and one other person.
The witnesses, who did not want to be named, says the gardener sustained a gunshot wound in the back.
“I was driving in this direction when I saw this running in an opposition. We suspected that there was a fight. One guy went to him and asked him if he was ok. He sustained injuries at the back,” says the witness.
