• IPID has taken over the murder case involving a Wolmaransstad police officer who murdered his girlfriend in Tswelelang following an argument in March 2025

• Charges of public violence against EFF members have been dropped. This was confirmed to Wolmaransstad Link by the party's Spokesperson in Dr Kenneth Kaunda Region, Fantah Mookela. Members of the EFF  were arrested during the party's National Shutdown 2 years ago 

• Residents are still awaiting their RDP houses to be completed It is now a year since the South African Human Rights Commission in North West completed an investigation into incomplete Maquassi Hills RDP houses. RDP recipients have been left hanging as their houses are not completed while some have moved into those structures without windows and proper doors to guarantee their safety

• Maquassi Hills Municipality has blamed Lebaleng water crisis on a pipe burst. Residents of Lebaleng in Makwassie still struggle with a long-standing issue of water shortage, relying on manholes for daily needs

• Jeffrey Lesie said challenges at Ntlatseng are being addressed by stakeholders. The Single Whip of Council,  Jeffrey Lesie, who conducted a school reopening visit at Ntlatseng Combined School, nestled in the rural heart of Maquassi Hills Municipality, said challenges faced by the school are on their table for discussion

• Lavine community in Maquassi Hills has been recognised by the provincial government by rendering services they need. Lavin is yet another area within the municipality to be disadvantaged by social factors
